Key West Tarpon Report - October 12th, 2018
The lower Keys has been experiencing decent weather conditions but right on cue for this time of the season. There are still a few Tarpon hanging around but the door is about to slam shut.
We're still picking up some light action for the big Tarpon in some of the deeper water channels. Mostly it's the little guys that are still in abundance usually found amongst the mangroves. The Tarpon fishing has been best at the early morning hours with very little afternoon action.
We've been concentrating our efforts mainly on other seasonal fish but I have a few clients that still are looking to punch their golden ticket on the fish of a lifetime. Once the first cold blast from the north hits, we're getting close, the Tarpon bite will be toast. Even the young fish will be hard to come by.
