Key West Fishing Reports -  February 17, 2019

Unlike most of the country w have had a beautiful stretch of weather in the Florida Keys. This warm south wind with favorable tides has made for some great fishing. Early season tarpon have started to show in the morning. Permit and bonefish are pushing up on the flats on a high falling tide. We still have big barracudas patrolling the flats as well. Tarpon season is filling up so book your trips soon!

Key West Fishing Reports -  February 25, 2019

Early morning tarpon can be found on banks and basins near the Gulf. It’s not as good as last week but there are a few fish around. The real action is on Gulf flats on falling tides.

Big schools of jack crevalle are blowing up bait balls of ballyhoo. Big barracudas are consistent on most outside flats. If you are patient, nice permit have made a showing and they are hungry. If you can find crabs to pitch to them, you will get bit!
Key West Fishing Reports -  March 1st - 4th, 2019

We are still enjoying some out of character weather for early March in Key West. Warm southerly winds have fired off the bite on the flats. Tarpon have pushed into back country channels and basins. Permit are making a great showing as well. But the past few days bonefish and big barracudas have been a solid target for my anglers.

Catching big cudas on a fly rod is a true challenge and about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on. Nice schools of 4-5 lb bonefish have been biting high up on the grass. Fishing is only going to get better!
